A. This is a measure of how much the human blood sugar rises and remains elevated in response to eating pure sugar. It is based on the amount of blood sugar rise in response to eating 50 grams of pure sugar, and this is assigned a glycemic index value of 100. All other foods are then rated in comparison to this value of 100. Generally, the higher the glycemic index, the more sugar content and resulting rise in blood sugar. A low glycemic index is defined as a value of 55, or less. A low glycemic index is very desirable and important with regard to healthy nutrition, cardiac health, weight management, diabetes, and other medical conditions.
A. Dietary fiber is found in various foods and is something you ingest (eat) that you cannot digest. The fiber passes through the stomach, then through the small intestine, and then into the colon. In the colon, fiber absorbs liquid and water, and this helps the colon function properly. Because the fiber absorbs liquid and water in the colon, a high fiber diet can help relieve symptoms of diarrhea by absorbing the excess water and slowing the colon stool passage. With constipation, the fiber absorbs the water, and allows for a softer stool that more easily passes through the colon. This is how fiber serves as a "bowel normalizer" and can help with both diarrhea or constipation.
A. IBS is a common medical condition that affects 20 to 30 % of the population. It causes abdominal bloating with crampy abdominal pain. Most commonly, it also presents with associated diarrhea and stool urgency (diarrhea without warning), and less commonly with constipation, or with alternating diarrhea and constipation. People often have these symptoms in response to "stress" in their lives, and these symptoms can be disabling. The good news is that IBS can be very effectively treated with the right amount and kind of fiber, as is found in Eco Bars.
A. Dietary fiber has many benefits and most people do not get nearly enough fiber in their diet. A high fiber diet may help lower cholesterol for cardiac health, help decrease the risk of colon and rectal cancer, relieve symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and also help to promote bowel regularity. Many people do not wish to take the time to add fiber powder supplements or pills, and find it very convenient to get their fiber from the nutritious and delicious Eco Bars. With this unique high fiber formulation, when combined with other dietary fiber, Eco Health bars represent a delicious way to help achieve the recommended goal of 25 to 30 grams of dietary fiber per day.

A. Insoluble fiber is often referred to as "roughage", and is found in such foods as bran, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. The insoluble fiber in your diet can help the body's natural elimination by promoting bowel regularity, and may help reduce the risk of the life-threatening and all too common disease of colon and rectal cancer. Soluble fiber in your diet, when combined with a low fat, zero trans-fat, low sugar diet, can help lower blood cholesterol levels by binding some of the cholesterol in your digestive tract. This then allows the cholesterol to be eliminated from your body naturally. It is helpful to think of these two types of fiber in your diet as a "Scrub and Flush" program for the human digestive system. The unique Eco Health Bar formulation offers the proper balance of both types of dietary fiber to afford you all these benefits in a convenient, satisfying, and delicious bar.
